The Dublin Mountains is an exciting recreational facility for the young and old. Whether you are interested in a walk with the family, a cross county hike or a spin on a mountain bike, the trails and forests of the Dublin Mountains has something for everyone. Let’s get out and enjoy it.

The Dublin Mountains Partnership are developing an integrated plan for the area, linking existing and potential outdoor recreation components – in particular forests and other public or state owned lands, with the ultimate aim of improving the recreational experience for users of the Dublin Mountains..

Dublin Mountaineer- Bus Service

The DMP is launching the Dublin Mountaineer bus service, which links the Dublin Mountains with the Sandyford Luas (Luas Green line) and Sean Walsh Park, Tallaght (Luas Red line).

Timetable:
The Dublin Mountaineer bus provides a direct gateway for walkers and hikers to enjoy the beauty of the Dublin Mountains on weekends and bank holidays, commencing on the 30th April 2011. The service departs from Tallaght (Sean Walsh Park) and Sandyford Luas three times a day and stops at a number of places across the Dublin Mountains.

Daily hop on hop off tickets cost €5 and a family ticket costs €12 (2 adults, 2 kids). The bus is ideal for those wishing to walk a section of the new Dublin Mountains Way, a 43km trail from Shankill in the east to Tallaght in the west.
