This year’s programme of the Openstagers Summer Camp runs from Monday 9th - Fri 13th August and Monday 16th – Friday 20th August from 10.30am to 4pm at Pavilion Theatre, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, and will feature a two week crash course in Youth Theatre facilitated by experienced professionals, culminating in a performance on the Pavilion stage!
Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s Municipal Theatre, is looking for young people to be part of a year-long project of performance; work experience and theatre going which gives young people an opportunity to: · create their own performance · see and critique top quality theatre and dance · experience life in a working theatre

Derrick Devine is 32 year-old actor, songwriter and Youth Drama director and facilitator from Dublin. As an actor, he has worked extensively with Pan Pan Theatre Company (Dublin) - with whom he will be performing as Hamlet as part of this year's Dublin Theatre Festival. Derrick has given countless drama workshops here and abroad and has adapted, written and directed many productions for young people of all ages - most recently The Graduation of Beth Daly and Mind the Gap (St. Michael's College and Mount Anville Productions). He specialises in facilitating fun, improv-based workshops with a contemporary edge - devising and arranging original work with young people by encouraging them to develop their creativity and confidence.
Areas covered in his workshops include: spontaneity, creativity, confidence, storytelling, improvisation, physical theatre, vocalisation, stage technique, music, song and dance, clowning, multimedia in theatre
Through his work with young people, Derrick's main aim is to provide individual participants a chance to explore drama and learn new skills in a fun, co-operative and positive group environment.
